Academic Administrator in the Department of Postgraduate Medicine & Allied Health
University of Buckingham, Department of Postgraduate Medicine & Allied Health
United Kingdom

The University of Buckingham is unique. Founded in 1976, it is the only independent, not-for-profit university in the UK to have a Royal Charter and this year it has been awarded 1st in the UK for Teaching Quality and 2nd in the UK for Staff-Student ratios by The Times and Sunday Times ‘Good University Guide 2019’. Buckingham is also proud to have been top or near top of the National Student Survey (NSS) in student satisfaction since 2006.

The new Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education is designed for the UK population of medical educators who are supporting learning in the healthcare and biomedical science disciplines (doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists, midwives). Accredited by both AdvanceHE and the AoME, the course aims to attract educators, clinicians and academics from a range of Health Science and Health Care disciplines from the wider community as well as those based within the University of Buckingham Medical School. The course is designed to meet the development needs of both those new to medical and healthcare education and training as well as those with considerable experience.

The School is looking for an administrator to co-ordinate and support a small, dedicated team of Medical Educators whose job is to provide excellent teaching and tutorial support for professional medical personnel studying for a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (PGCME). The post holder will have a key role in ensuring that physical and human resources to support this programme are well co-ordinated and delivered to deadlines. The administrator will liaise directly with students, being a focus for their recruitment, induction and progress on the course.

Informal enquiries may be made to Dr Claire Stocker

The closing date for applications is Friday 31st August 2019.

It is anticipated that interviews will be held in the week commencing 9th September 2019.
