Academic Administrator Series/Academic Coordinator Series
Radiologic Outcomes Research Lab (RORL) – Dr. Rebecca Smith-Bindman


The general responsibilities of this position are as follows:

The Academic Administrator/Coordinator will provide scientific and administrative guidance and oversight and for all Radiologic Outcomes Research Lab (RORL) grants and projects. This is a hybrid scientific and administrative leadership role that includes management and supervision of RORL lab personnel, as well as scientific leadership of the analytic aspects of the multiple grants being conducted within the RORL. The Academic Administrator/Coordinator will ensure program aims are met and staff is adequately on track and supported, and will guide the scientific details of projects alongside Dr. Smith-Bindman.


The Academic Administrator/Coordinator will be the primary point of contact for administrative needs, program development and research activities, and will be responsible for scientific leadership and program management for several multi-site projects. The incumbent will oversee and guide statistical analysis, and will collaborate closely with the PI, and independently lead the writing of manuscripts, presentations, grant applications, progress reports, and renewals. The Academic Administrator/Coordinator will also guide and mentor the scientific team towards their leading and contributing to manuscripts and presentations. The incumbent will work closely with the finance team for subcontract execution and budgets.


The scientific focus of RORL is epidemiology, health services research with focus on public health issues. The candidate appointed in the Academic Coordinator series must possess at least a Master's degree (or equivalent degree). The candidate appointed in the Academic Administrator series must possess a terminal degree (or equivalent). The ideal candidate will have 10 or more years of experience with an excellent track record with managing and mentoring staff, and meeting numerous internal and external deadlines. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and passionate about improving health with demonstrated self-direction and initiative.
