Adjunct Instructor/ Instructor in Clinical Trials Research Associate/Medical Product Safety/Pharmacovigilance

This is a non-tenure track position. Academic rank at the time of appointment will be commensurate with experience and credentials.

  • Teaching: The Department Chair or designee will assign teaching responsibilities that may include didactic lecturing, experiential training, course directorship, and participating in various other teaching activities.
  • Scholarship: Develop, grow and maintain national recognition in neurocritical care medicine through an active program of scholarship that includes peer-reviewed publications on a regular annual basis. Seek and apply for external funding. Presentations at local, regional, and national meetings are expected.
  • Clinical Service: Provision of clinical services for patients with neurologic disorders within the integrated decentralized pharmacy service at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Clinical services will be shared with another faculty member and each is expected to provide an equivalent of six months per year of clinical services. Service: Establish and maintain local, statewide, and national recognition in critical care medicine. Participate in College, Departmental, and Medical Center committees as deemed appropriate.


Applicant should hold a Pharm.D. degree and have completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency (PGY1) and a specialized residency (PGY2) or fellowship, or have equivalent training or experience in critical care. Pharmacy licensure in Tennessee will be required.

Applicants with training and experience in neurocritical care pharmacy practice will be given preferential consideration.

The applicants should demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication, clinical skills, and teaching. The ability to deliver clinical service in an integrated, decentralized pharmacy system position is highly desirable as is demonstrated scholarly activity in an academic setting. Board certification or eligibility for board-certification is preferred.
