Postdoctoral position in Neurorehabilitation

At the Biomechatronics and Neurorehabilitation Laboratory we research and develop technologies to restore quality of life after traumatic events that led to amputations or motor impairments. Our research is strongly based on the decoding of motor volition via myoelectric pattern recognition and neuromuscular interfaces. We enjoy working on biomedical instrumentation, bioelectric signals processing, machine learning, biomechatronics, and human-machine interfacing. We also investigate virtual and augmented reality as a tool to provide timely and appropriate visual feedback. We are as interested in understanding the basic mechanisms of motor control, perception and their pathologies, as in translating biomedical engineering technologies to help patients in need.

Previous achievements of our group are the first bionic limb directly connected to the patient’s bone, nerves, and muscles (TEDx talk:, and a novel treatment for Phantom Limb Pain using virtual and augmented reality ( Both of these projects are currently under clinical implementation.

We are searching for a skilled and motivated individual to help us developing and translating novel technologies into clinical use.


  • Full time postdoctoral employmentfor 2 years with the possibility of extension for 1 to 2 years.


  • Outstanding PhD degree with focus on neurorehabilitation, prosthetics, exoskeletons, or biomechatronics.
