Teaching in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program

The ASU College of Nursing and Health Innovation is seeking part-time, non-tenure track Faculty Associates to teach in our Doctor of Nursing Practice program. Responsibilities include didactic, clinical, and online teaching.


Required Qualifications:


  • Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in healthcare, education, leadership, or a closely related area.


  • Hold a current unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Arizona.


  • For positions teaching any APRN courses that include a clinical learning focus:  Current unencumbered Arizona APRN certificate.  A graduate degree in nursing or a health related field in the population focus, two years of APRN clinical experience, current knowledge, competence and certification as an APRN in the role and population focus consistent with teaching responsibilities; and national certification in specialty.


  • Prior to teaching a clinical course faculty must: Demonstrate compliance with health and safety requirements of clinical agencies, including background clearance, Department of Public Safety Level 1 fingerprint clearance, current immunizations, current CPR, current ACLS (as applicable), and drug screening.


Desired Qualifications:


  • Prior higher education teaching experience is preferred.
  • For clinical teaching positions, preference will be given to candidates with relevant clinical experience.
