We are looking to appoint a Lecturer to work in the Faculty as a Teaching and Scholarship Academic member of staff, with a particular focus on the molecular aspects of evolutionary biology.


With a B.Sc. and Ph.D. in a relevant life-sciences subject you will contribute to the undergraduate degree programmes offered by the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health. You will offer teaching through a variety of means including lectures, practicals, tutorials and eLearning.


In an environment of continuing improvement and teaching excellence, you will use appropriate teaching, learning support and assessment methods to deliver your teaching as well as develop and produce learning materials.


You will contribute to the planning, design and development of objectives and material particularly in relation to practical/applied skills.


You will be expected to collaborate in subject, professional and pedagogy research to support teaching activities as well as contribute to the enhancement of teaching quality within the Faculty.


Your role will require you to balance the pressures of teaching and administrative duties and competing deadlines. As a team player you will liaise with both professional support services staff and academic colleagues to ensure student needs and expectations are met.
