Our research spans a broad field within experimental preclinical research, near-patient clinical research and health sciences research. The position is based at the Department of Clinical Sciences in Lund, and combined with a position as a specialist/senior physician at the Skåne University Hospital.

 

Work duties


Work duties include research, research studies and teaching on the first and second cycle courses at the faculty, which presumes good knowledge in the subject of clinical oncology. Other work duties normally associated with a position as professor include some administration, as well as internal and external elected office nationally and internationally. The position entails responsibility for coordinating the subject of clinical oncology at the faculty.

 

Independent clinical work is included within the framework of the specialist physician/consultant position. Other work duties may also occur.

 

Eligibility


A person who has demonstrated both research and teaching expertise shall be qualified for employment as a professor pursuant to Chapter 4 Section 3 of the Higher Education Ordinance.

 

The applicant is also to have specialist expertise in oncology and documented clinical independence with a broad experience of oncological treatment.

 

As the appointment as professor is combined with employment as a trained specialist physician, the applicant is required to possess a knowledge of Swedish at the level required for a practising physician (according to the definition of the National Board of Health and Welfare which also accepts equivalent knowledge in Norwegian or Danish).

 

Grounds for assessment


The applicant is to have demonstrated very considerable research expertise and teaching expertise of significance to the subject. In the assessment, particular emphasis will be placed on research expertise. The applicant is to have demonstrated research expertise by maintaining a high national and international level as a researcher. It is an additional qualification if the future holder of the position has been the principal investigator in successful research grant applications in national or international competition. Experience of translational research and research which is applicable in public healthcare are additional qualifications.

 

The applicant is to have demonstrated teaching expertise both within teaching and supervision, in the first, second and third cycles of study.

 

A documented ability for leadership and for interaction with wider society will also be taken into account.

 

Documented clinical independence and experience to lead clinical duties is also included in the grounds for assessment.
