CLINICAL PROFESSOR IN CLINICAL GENETICS 


A position as clinical professor in Clinical Genetics and as a senior physician at the Clinical Institute, Faculty of Health Sciences, Aalborg University and Clinical Genetics Department, Aalborg University Hospital, is available for occupation per. March 1, 2019 or by appointment. The position is considered as a whole and can only be collected. However, applicants who are already a general practitioner at Region North Jutland should only apply for clinical professorship. Clinical Genetic Department, Aalborg University Hospital, conducts clinical genetic diagnostics and counseling of patients referenced from clinical departments and general practice in the Region of North Jutland. The department has no annual 2000 patient outpatient care and the number is increasing. The department carries out specialized and regional functions in accordance with the Clinical Genetics Special Plan. The department covers genetics widely, but has main interest in sensory genetics, oncogenetics, dysmorphology and syndrome diagnostics. The Department's doctors participate in a number of multidisciplinary conferences and have a particularly close collaboration with the Molecular Diagnostics Section (AfMD). JOB DESCRIPTION


To the post is a clinical assistant and a half technical-administrative employee.

 

Applicants are expected to participate in the established team structure with full or partial responsibility for one or more clinical disciplines depending on the applicant's professional profile.

 

Working hours are distributed by approx. 50% for clinical work and 50% for university-related work.

 

Applicants, together with the department's other professor and other specialist doctors, should expand the existing research environment. Applicants are expected to be able to establish their own research group with projects within one of the department's subspecials. "Personal Medicine" is one of Aalborg University Hospital's focus areas and it is expected that the clinical professor wants to support ongoing activities and initiate research projects related to the area.

 

The clinical professor is part of the department's management team and is expected to participate actively in the solution of interdisciplinary tasks, as well as taking co-responsibility for optimal operation and development of the department.

 

Applicant must be over qualified and possess Danish specialist specialist in clinical genetics.

 

It is expected that the applicant is visionary, open and decision-making with a professional overview, high level of ambition and a clear profile within the Clinical Genetics specialist.

 

Applicants are expected to have documented original scientific production at international level and to be an inspiring and active research leader working to motivate others and both ability to initiate and complete projects. Experience is expected with major fund applications and ability to attract funds.

 

It is expected that the applicant has documented experience in both pre-and postgraduate education. The clinical professor is expected to participate in the graduate education of doctoral students at the Master's degree in medicine at Aalborg University.

 

In addition to the clinical work in the department, the duties will include the development of the subject area, research, research training and further training of researchers. Ca. Half of working hours are used for university-related work.

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT


Recruitment and remuneration in accordance with the agreement between the State and the AC or agreement on Candidates in Nursing employed as scientific staff. The student will be paid a fee of DKK 172,744.99 (March 2012 level) annually.

 

Hiring as a surgeon is in accordance with the current agreement between the Danish Regions and the Association of Specialists.
