Clinical Research Assistant

Grade 6: £28,660 - £34,189 p.a

We are looking for an enthusiastic researcher (study nurse, radiographer, physiologist, or with other relevant background), to drive a clinical trial validating the ability of a new technology to track changes of inflammation in the human coronary arteries in response to treatments, using standard computed tomography angiography. The technology is called Fat Attenuation Indexing (FAI) and had been recently found to predict heart attacks years in advance.


As part of this team, you will recruit and screen new participants in order to establish their eligibility and safety to enter the study and to register/randomise participants into the study. As well as this you will Facilitate the informed consent process and provide ongoing information, education and support to participants.


You will be a registered qualified Nurse, Radiographer, Physiologist or have a similar background and have excellent written and oral communication skills, evidenced by the ability to explain and interpret procedures clearly and sensitively. Experience with imaging and image analysis (CT and/or ultrasound) would be desirable.


This full-time appointment is on a fixed-term for 3 years, and you will work under the supervision of Professor Charalambos Antoniades. The post is funded by Innovate UK and you will be based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, OX3 9DU.
