Assistant or Associate Professor (without tenure) HMC CardiologyPosition OverviewOrganization: Medicine, Cardiology Title: Assistant or Associate Professor (without tenure) HMC Cardiology Position DetailsPosition DescriptionThe Division of Cardiology, University of Washington Department of Medicine, School of Medicine and UW Heart Institute is seeking a full time cardiologist for the position of Director of Harborview Medical Center Cath Lab & Interventional Service. This individual will be primarily charged with developing acute cardiovascular services at Harborview Medical Center (HMC). A secondary responsibility will be to refine and coordinate a Regional Acute Coronary Syndrome Emergency Care System across the UW Heart Institute facilities to develop a system wide approach to the care of these patients. The successful applicant would be appointed to the full-time (100% FTE) faculty at the University of Washington at the Assistant or Associate Professor level (without tenure due to funding), commensurate with qualifications, and an annual service period of 12 months. Anticipated start date is Winter 2021. QualificationsApplicants should have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified/eligible in cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology (or foreign equivalent). In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The individual must have strong interpersonal skills necessary to build relationships with emergency medical organizations in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties.
