The Department of Pathobiology ( at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is accepting applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor in Immunology. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position with a major research appointment, with an anticipated start date of August 16, 2021. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will have responsibilities in research, teaching and service. The candidate must have an exceptional publication record in leading peer-reviewed journals, a well-defined research vision, and will be expected to establish and maintain an innovative, extramurally funded research program, and collaborate within a vibrant community of basic and clinical scientists. Teaching at the graduate and professional level is expected. A minor service appointment is required to support the department and larger academic communities.

The Department of Pathobiology at the College of Veterinary Medicine ( consists of faculty with strong research programs in molecular mechanisms of infectious disease and development of prevention and control strategies for bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections of animals and humans. Desired fields of study for this position include the investigation of immune mechanisms and prevention related to bacterial, fungal, parasitic, or viral infections. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. or professional degree, along with postdoctoral experience.
