Assistant Professor, Allergy and Infectious Diseases (Graduate Medical Education)Position OverviewOrganization: Medicine, Allergy & Infectious Diseases Title: Assistant Professor, Allergy and Infectious Diseases (Graduate Medical Education) Position DetailsPosition DescriptionThe Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (AID) in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position. This position will be at the Assistant Professor level, without tenure for reasons of funding (WOT), and will have clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities. This position has an annual service period of 12-months [July 1-June 30] and is anticipated to start in July 2021. This faculty position will also include the role of Director of Quality improvement for the Madison Clinic and Director of the UW Medicine Internal Medicine Residency HIV Pathway. The successful candidate will lead independent, innovative research project on the interface of education specifically related to HIV and graduate medical education. The candidate will also provide clinical care of immunocompromised patients, such as with HIV, as well as general infectious diseases patients. The duties of this position include publishing in the field of infectious diseases and mentoring fellows and other trainees regarding HIV disease. This position will include clinical instruction (whilst seeing patients) of medical students, residents and fellows, in-classroom instruction, curriculum development, and mentoring internal medicine residents in the IM Residency HIV Pathway. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. QualificationsApplicants must hold a MD (or foreign equivalent) and be board eligible/ board certified in Infectious Diseases (or foreign equivalent). Successful candidates must demonstrate documented expertise in HIV clinical care and research with a focus on HIV graduate medical education. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
