Assistant Professor in Anatomy/Medical Sciences

Applications are invited for the above post based in the Division of Medical Sciences and Graduate Entry Medicine at the Royal Derby Hospital site. 


You will be responsible for leading anatomy teaching to our Graduate Entry Medicine students. In addition, you will contribute to the delivery of lectures, workshops and seminars to students on our other medicine programmes in Nottingham as well as our other courses including the BSc in Medical Physiology & Therapeutics, Foundation Year (medicine) and our proposed Masters in Physician Associate studies. Duties will include liaising with module and discipline leads to help set assessments, marking and providing feedback to students. Teaching is delivered mainly through prosected material in a modern Anatomy Suite in Derby with links to anatomical resources in Nottingham. The role also entails acting as a personal tutor and providing support to students. 


Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent in a biomedical science area. It is also essential to have relevant teaching experience and excellent communications skills with an ability to work collaboratively. Previous experience in teaching medical students or within a Problem Based Learning framework is desirable. 


This is a permanent, full time post but applicants who wish to work less than full time (0.8 WTE minimum) will also be considered. Job share arrangements may be considered for this post.
