The Columbia University in the Department of Neurology is recruiting a scientist for its Eleanor and Lou Gehrig ALS Center in partnership with its affiliate Center for Motor Neuron Biology and Disease.

The successful candidate will create a research program that is dedicated to exploring the molecular and cellular basis of mechanism of neurodegeneration, specifically in ALS as well as other common forms of age related brain disorders from a variety of perspectives – molecular genetics, biology, cellular biology – leveraging cutting-edge techniques and existing special transcriptomic data sets from experimental and human brain from patients with the above cited conditions.

Experience with either special transcriptomic/single-cell genomics, cell purification and manipulation is required, and we are looking for candidates that will lead the development of the next generation of studies generating additional data and translating results into mechanistic and target validation studies.
