Assistant/Associate Professor of Medicine

Description

The Department of Pathology at the Yale School of Medicine is seeking an academically oriented, board-certified anatomic pathologist with gastrointestinal subspecialty training. The successful candidate must be able to exhibit diagnostic excellence in a subspecialty surgical pathology environment, perform at a standard commensurate with a major academic center, contribute to medical school, resident and fellow teaching, and develop an academic program reflective of their interests.  The candidate will be joining a well-established GI pathology team, with opportunities for clinical and academic mentorship and sponsorship. GI candidates with the appropriate research background may also consider applying for the Virginia Swanson Scholar position; see separate ad for additional details (apply.interfolio.com/108086). The department will provide resources to support program development.  Rank and salary will depend upon level of expertise and accomplishments.

The Department serves Yale New Haven Hospital, Hospital of Saint Raphael, and Bridgeport Hospital, major teaching and referral centers in southern Connecticut, and a robust outreach program providing consultative services to regional practitioners and beyond.

Southern Connecticut offers beautiful shorelines, affordable housing, excellent schools, numerous recreational and cultural opportunities, and easy access to New York, Boston, Newport, Cape Cod, and the hiking trails and ski slopes of New England.

A record of demonstrated academic productivity and clinical excellence in diagnostic pathology is required. Candidates must be board certified in anatomic pathology. Two years of independent sign out experience is desirable, but not required.

All application materials must be uploaded through Interfolio, at apply.interfolio.com/108826 . These include a curriculum vitae, a letter of interest, and names and contact information for letters of recommendation from three senior references who are familiar with applicant's work and accomplishments. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Specific inquiries may be directed to Marie Robert, MD, Director of Gastrointestinal Pathology, marie.robert@yale.edu.
