Position Description

The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at the University of Washington, School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor level WOT (without tenure due to funding) with an interest in General Cardiology and Artificial Intelligence. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments and Associate Professor and Full Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that all align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time.  All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The anticipated start date will be August 1, 2024 or after.

The position includes engagement in patient care, scholarship, and medical education. The candidate will have opportunities to provide a strong commitment to patient care with an interest in general cardiology, practicing dynamic, cutting edge medicine at the top-rated hospital in the state of Washington. The successful candidate will practice at UW Medical Center-Montlake, Eastside Specialty Center, and/or Harborview Medical Center. Their research focus will be on artificial intelligence in Cardiology. Teaching duties will include attending on the inpatient Cardiology service at UWMC-Montlake and/or Harborview, outpatient Cardiology clinic at Eastside Specialty Center or Harborview, and didactic lecturing to Cardiology fellows and Internal Medicine residents. The successful candidate will be expected to provide effective leadership and support the department's commitment to patient care, scholarship and medical education. 

The base salary range for this position will be $16,250-$33,333 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include an administrative salary supplement (ADS), moonlighting opportunities, and incentive through UW Physicians practice plan.

Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified and eligible in Cardiology (or foreign equivalent) and Transthoracic, Transesophageal, and Stress Echocardiography through the National Board of Echocardiography (or foreign equivalent), and must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington. Successful candidates must have an academic track record with evidence of publications. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
