Date Posted: 10/27/2025 DescriptionThe Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, and the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre are inviting applications for the position of an Academic Infectious Diseases physician. This full-time appointment will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto with a position description as a Clinician Scientist at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. The position will be approximately 25% clinical and 75% research-related. We are seeking a clinician scientist who will foster excellence in academic infectious diseases. Sunnybrook has established a strategic direction to accelerate clinical trials. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a research program that fosters innovative clinical trials to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases. Research excellence will be assessed by grants, publications in leading journals, invited presentations, awards, and related accomplishments—considering the candidate’s career stage. CompensationEstimated compensation: $300,000–$350,000, commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association, through which clinical billings and benefits will be administered.
