Position Overview Undergraduate Medical Education is a vital function within the Department of Medicine, the largest individual contributor to the education of medical students in the Faculty of Medicine, both in terms of the number of participating faculty and the volume of teaching hours. The Director of Undergraduate Medical Education is a highly valued leadership position, pivotal to the overall success of the Department. The role oversees all educational activities within the Internal Medicine Year 3 and Year 4 clinical clerkships, including direction and guidance for: Curriculum delivery and innovation Curriculum change and organizational structure Teaching, evaluation, and educational scholarship The Director reports directly to the Vice-Chair, Education (or designate) and the Departmental Division Director, and is also accountable to the Associate Dean, Postgraduate Medical Education. Qualifications The ideal candidate will be a respected clinical teacher or educator and innovative leader with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, and a demonstrated interest in education. A strong track record of educational scholarship and innovation would be an asset.
