Applicants must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Successful completion of the Continuing Faculty Appointment Review (CFAR) is required. Preference will be given to applicants at the rank of Assistant Professor or above. The term of the Director, Undergraduate Medical Education appointment is five years, with the possibility of one renewal following a successful review. The anticipated start date is March 1, 2026, or an alternative date as mutually agreed, with a transition/mentorship period prior to the start date. Position OverviewUndergraduate Medical Education is a vital function within the Department of Medicine, the largest individual contributor to the education of medical students in the Faculty of Medicine, both in terms of the number of participating faculty and the volume of teaching hours. The Director of Undergraduate Medical Education is a highly valued leadership position, pivotal to the overall success of the Department. The preferred hospital site for the Director’s clinical activities will be negotiated with the successful candidate and will be one of the following fully affiliated University sites: Sinai Health Systems, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC), St. Michael’s Hospital, or University Health Network (UHN).
