Post Summary

The School of Nursing & Midwifery is seeking to recruit an Associate Professor in Mental Health Nursing to contribute to teaching, research, and administrative activities in this field. This position arises from the intent to strengthen Trinity College Dublin’s leadership in mental health nursing research and education, secure key funding opportunities, expand institutional capacity, and support the long-term growth and impact of the School in this critical area.

The successful candidate will:

• Have a track record in mental health nursing education and research

• Provide leadership in the discipline of mental health nursing

• Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, as well as interdisciplinary teaching, curriculum development, supervision, and academic mentoring

This post provides an exciting opportunity to advance mental health nursing, which is of strategic focus for the discipline and the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

The successful candidate will have:

• A depth of knowledge pertinent to the role

• A sustained record of research funding capture, leading to practice innovation and scholarly publication

The individual will be expected to:

• Connect with, complement, and enhance existing strengths in mental health nursing and in the School

• Engage with innovations and research initiatives in mental health nursing

• Work closely with the head of discipline and other discipline members

Note: Police vetting will be conducted for individuals under consideration for this post.

Post Status & Conditions

• Post status: Permanent Contract

• Hours of Work: Governed by applicable Public Service Agreements. Further information

• Salary: Associate Professor Salary Scale (€91,151 - €117,706 per annum), at a point in line with current Government pay policy (monthly/weekly payscales)
