The Discipline of Pharmacology and Therapeutics was established in St. James’s Hospital as a centre of excellence for pharmacology, hypertension, cardiovascular risk, and prescribing practice—encompassing patient care, research, and education. The specialty interfaces with the Wellcome-Health Research Board Clinical Research Facility at St James’s Hospital (SJH-CRF) and other relevant disciplines including Medicine and Medical Education.
