Summary Description

The Lab of Dr. Chavez in the Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at the Columbia University Medical Center is currently seeking a postdoctoral research scientist interested in the further development of a high-throughput drug screen platform allowing us to test dozens of disease models in parallel simultaneously. The candidate will perform large scale drug screens on neurodegenerative disease models, and validate hits within human iPSCs while working with a talented graduate student in the lab to carry out the project.



Minimum Degree Required

PhD / MD


Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in biological, computational or other quantitative science. Knowledge of molecular biology (e.g. cloning, PCR, plasmid DNAextraction) and cell biology (e.g. yeast culture, mammalian cell culture) is a requirement unless other outstanding characteristics exist (e.g. Ph.D. in statistics).



Preferred Qualifications

Advanced knowledge in molecular techniques and next-generation sequencing library preparation and analysis.
