Clinical Lecturer in Medical Virology (Fixed Term)


Applications are invited for a Clinical Lecturer in Medical Virology, Department of Pathology. This post offers unrivalled opportunity to undertake high quality research within an outstanding academic and clinical environment as well as RCPath recognised training in Medical Virology.


Applicants should be medically qualified, have full GMC registration and hold a current licence to practice at time of taking the appointment, those on 'Updated 2010 Medical Virology' should have evidence of Foundation competences from a UKFPO affiliated Foundation Programme or equivalent, and those on 'Medical Virology curriculum (2014)' should hold MRCP and evidence of achievement of Core Medical Training competences from a UK CMT affiliated Programme or equivalent in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice.


There is an existing NTN(A) in Medical Virology for this post.


It is expected that you will already hold or have submitted a PhD/DPhil/MD, and be of the standing required for an appropriate honorary contract of service with the NHS LETB (specialist trainee/LETB). Candidates who have not submitted their PhD at the time of application will not be considered.


The appointment will be for four years and, if you do not already hold a PhD/DPhil/MD at the time of application, will be subject to the confirmation of the award before commencement of post.


Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment. This appointment also requires an Honorary Clinical Contract.
