The Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University's Faculty of Health Sciences, Health, is seeking a clinical lecturer in pr. December 1, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a part-time part-time position until 31 August 2023.

Department of Clinical Medicine
As a clinical lecturer at the Department of Clinical Medicine, you become part of probably the largest health science research institute in Denmark. The clinical research covers all the medical specialties and takes place in collaboration with the University Hospital and the regional hospitals in the Central Jutland region. We have approx. 30,000 square meters of modern research facilities for experimental surgery and medicine, animal facilities and advanced scanners. The institute has overall responsibility for the master's programs in medicine and in molecular medicine.

At the institute we are approx. 425 scientific staff and just as many PhD students collaborating across disciplines. As a clinical lecturer, you will work at Aarhus University Hospital or another hospital in the Central Jutland region. You can read more about the institute here and about the faculty here .

Your duties
As a clinical lecturer in urinary tract surgery, you contribute to the development of the department's research and teaching environment and to the faculty's overall research strategy. You must independently organize and conduct teaching within the particular department or unit's specialty and applicable curriculum. In your teaching you ensure a high professional and didactic standard.

Your tasks will primarily consist of:

  • Teaching, lectures, courses and exams
  • To contribute to the development of new teaching activities
  • Guidance on research training and participation in assessment work in the awarding of doctoral and doctoral degrees
  • Student guidance, assignment and assessment of written exam questions
  • Participation in assessment committees

As a clinical lecturer, you undertake to carry out an agreed number of annual confrontation hours. You can be hired to handle between 15 and 60 hours of confrontation annually. The 15 to 60 hours of confrontation can be increased to 25 to 100 hours of confrontation annually if you do not perform other tasks, equal to 50 to 200 hours per year.

Your skills
You are employed as a specialist in urinary tract surgery and conduct independent research. You want to take care of teaching medical students in clinical subjects and the ability to build trusting relationships with students, colleagues and collaborators. As a teacher, you communicate the latest and relevant knowledge in a committed, clear and clear way. As a mentor, you are competent, inspiring and supportive.

As a person, you are dedicated and possess good communication skills. You will take responsibility for the development of the institute's education at the highest international level and that we maintain a good working environment.

Hiring basis

Employment and remuneration are in accordance with the Circular on agreement on clinical lecturers at universities .
A clinical lecturer is paid proportionately according to the number of hours of confrontation hired. A clinical lecturer, for example. is hired to handle 60 confrontation hours annually and other tasks up to 200 hours annually, paid with an annual fee of DKK 95,200 per year. year (Level 31 March 2012). The fee is paid with 1/12 monthly arrears. The amount is pensionable by 17.1%. Special holiday allowance of 1.5% is granted.
