Clinical Research Nurse in Research Coordinator

We are looking for a highly motivated and well-organised Clinical Research Nurse-Research Coordinator to support the Acute Vascular Sub-Theme of the Oxford Biomedical Research Centre, based in the Acute Vascular Imaging Centre (AVIC) at the John Radcliffe Hospital. This programme of clinical research includes the Oxford Acute Myocardial Infarction (OxAMI) Study, and related studies and clinical trials. The work will include both office-based administrative work and clinical activities, including direct involvement with patients participating in research studies. 

This Clinical Research Nurse – Research Co-ordinator will work closely with clinical investigators and their teams in the Department and in the AVIC. You will aid in the smooth running of a portfolio of clinical research studies and a cohort study of patients with acute vascular syndromes. The role will combine facilitation of research protocols; study allocation; procedure scheduling and data management/record keeping. You will work closely with a wide range of both clinical and administrative staff, in the Coronary Care Unit, Heart Centre, Stroke Unit, Acute Vascular Imaging Centre and Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research. 

You will support the administration of clinical research in CVM, particularly with respect to research in acute vascular syndromes and the OxAMI cohort study and also play a leading role in the day-to-day efficient delivery of clinical research activity. Essential criteria requires you to hold a degree or equivalent qualification (preferably in nursing, life sciences or medical) and have relevant clinical research nurse or equivalent experience. Experience in an acute medical environment and clinical research coordination would be desirable. 

This full-time appointment is fixed-term until 31 March 2022. You will work under the supervision of Professor Keith Channon and Professor Robin Choudhury and you will be based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, OX3 9DU.
