Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Senior Research Associate (Honorary Consultant) in Ovarian Precision Cancer Medicine in the Department of Oncology (


The successful applicant will be a principal investigator in the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Centre Ovarian Programme (programme leads: Dr James Brenton and Professor Paul Pharoah) and will lead development of therapeutic trials in ovarian cancer, with a focus on biomarker-driven designs. The Ovarian Programme has close collaborative links between the Departments of Oncology, Radiology, Public Health and Primary Care and the CR-UK Cambridge Institute and has a strong track record of discovery in cancer genomics, circulating tumour DNA, germline genetics and functional imaging. This new post offers unique opportunities for developing novel approaches for precision medicine in ovarian cancer by translating this science into the clinic.


The successful applicant will be expected to establish a programme of clinical and translational research in ovarian cancer, participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and assessment in Oncology, and contribute to the clinical service at Addenbrooke's Hospital. The Department of Oncology is based at Addenbrooke's Hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

Applicants should be medically qualified, have, or be eligible for, full GMC registration and recognized specialist training in oncology.


This appointment will also include an NHS Honorary Consultant Contract with Cambridge University Hospitals Foundation Trust (CUHFT) and approximately 50% of the job plan of the postholder will be in gynaecological medical oncology.
