Duties and Responsibilities

UCL Medical School (UCLMS) is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, part time Clinical Teaching Fellow to join a proactive and friendly team of Healthcare Educators. The post holder will contribute to the successful delivery of clinical, practical and professional skills to undergraduate medical students and will prepare, mark and assess student assignments and exams. The post holder will contribute to the departmental teaching and learning strategy and will be expected to undertake administrative tasks as required.

There will also be an opportunity to contribute to the department's research programme in medical education.

This post is available to undertake specific maternity cover, the duration of which is dependent upon completion of the cover, return of the post holder or cessation of the funding, whichever is the sooner. Cover is anticipated from November 2019 for one year.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will hold a medical degree or a profession-specific clinical degree e.g. nursing, midwifery and will have completed a CPD course in teaching. Experience in healthcare professions education and experience of teaching students of healthcare education at undergraduate level is essential. The successful candidate will also need to have sufficient knowledge to teach a range of practical procedures to medical students both in the classroom and in the clinical area.
