Columbia University New York, Department of Radiology
United States

Summary Description

The Department of Radiology at Columbia University Medical Center / NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking an outstanding candidate to join the Division of Musculoskeletal Radiology as a full-time faculty member.

The Division of Musculoskeletal Radiology is a dynamic and robust service that works hand in hand with world class referring physicians, particularly from the Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery, Rheumatology, and Rehabilitation/Regenerative Medicine. There is a strong emphasis on sports imaging as we provide imaging services for professional teams including the New York Yankees, New York City Football Club, and Rockland Boulders, collegiate athletic programs including Fordham University and Columbia University, and numerous high school athletic programs. Spine imaging is also a focal point in our practice as we work closely with our orthopaedic surgery colleagues at The Spine Hospital, the only dedicated spine center in New York.

The division provides a full array of musculoskeletal imaging and interventions including MRI, CT, X-ray, diagnostic US, and image guided interventions (predominantly US-guided). We pride ourselves on a collegial team-oriented work environment with all faculty members working closely together to provide a high level of patient care. The central hub for the division is at the main campus of Columbia University Medical Center / New York-Presbyterian Hospital in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. We also have a complement of thriving outpatient practices with offices in Midtown Manhattan, Tarrytown (in Westchester County), and Bronxville (also in Westchester County).

Columbia University Medical Center is one of the premier clinical and research institutions in the country. New York-Presbyterian Hospital has been ranked as the #1 hospital in New York for 17 years in a row and is presently ranked #6 in the nation on the US News & World Report Honor Roll. The Department of Radiology performs over 600,000 examinations per year. Imaging equipment consists of 13 MRI scanners, 10 CT scanners, 4 PET/CT scanners, 25 fixed x-ray rooms, 11 special procedures suites, and numerous ultrasound scanners.

New York City is the “capital of the world” with unparalleled access to sports, dining, the arts, shopping, and activities. Columbia provides the best location to work in New York City with a very easy commute from anywhere on the West Side of Manhattan or from any number of great towns/villages in the beautiful suburbs of Northern New Jersey or Westchester and Rockland Counties in New York. The university offers a highly competitive benefits package, including numerous retirement plans, and ample time off for vacation and CME.
