Psychiatrist Job Opening at Columbia University Medical Center

Position Titles: Instructor/Assistant Professor level positions in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC)

Job Description:
Fill time positions are available for positions in a new Telepsychiatry Service. This new program is a partnership between NYP, CUIMC, and Weill Cornell.

Responsibilities include providing telepsychiatry consultation to the emergency rooms and inpatient care settings of NewYork-Presbyterian campuses and regional hospitals. The position entails working in conjunction with psychiatric nurse-practitioners at each hospital site. The schedule will be rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, with a three shift per week schedule for full-time employment. We offer competitive salary benefits, and there is an opportunity to increase total compensation through extra shift work or participating in our faculty practice.

Training in psychosomatic medicine is an asset but not required.

Telepsychiatry service will have availability in both Adult and Child services.

Minimum Degree Required

Minimum Educational Requirements:
MD or DO from accredited institution.
NYS License.
Active DEA License.
ABPN Board Certification (for graduating residents/fellows, Board certification within 6 months of start date is acceptable).
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (specific for Child services).
Assistant Professor requires board certification in psychiatry and 2-3 years post-residency clinical experience. Instructor level requires graduation from a psychiatric residency program.



Minimum Qualifications

Training in psychosomatic medicine is an asset but not required.
