Department of Population Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences Position OverviewThe Department of Population Medicine & Diagnostic Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University invites applications for a Clinical Instructor faculty position in the Maddie’s® Shelter Medicine Program (MSMP). This is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track appointment. The Clinical Instructor may oversee students providing medical care and performing surgery on the Primary Care Surgery (PCS) service at Cornell’s Small Animal Community Practice. Required and Preferred QualificationsCandidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree with at least 2 years of clinical experience. Experience in a shelter environment is required. Completion of a Shelter Medicine Internship or Residency is preferred. Program InformationThe MSMP is comprised of five full-time and one part-time faculty veterinarians, and the program is supported by three experienced licensed veterinary technicians (LVT), a program coordinator, and two interns. For clinical work, we partner with a local shelter full-time and provide regional clinical support. Additionally, our consultation service engages regionally and nationally through both remote and onsite collaborations.
