Job DescriptionThe Department of Radiology at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS), United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), invites applications for the position of Advanced Radiologic Technologist at the Instructor level. This is a unique academic-technical role that combines graduate education, advanced imaging research, and technical leadership in medical imaging. The successful candidate will support the Translational Imaging Research (CTIR) in MRI-based research, graduate teaching, and industry collaborations. This position will play a key role in enhancing UAEU’s imaging research capacity, training students in advanced imaging techniques, and supporting cutting-edge AI-driven diagnostics. Key Responsibilities • Teaching & Training: o Develop and deliver graduate courses in advanced medical imaging and imaging research methodologies. o Train medical students, radiology residents, and biomedical engineering students in MRI imaging techniques and AI-assisted diagnostics. o Supervise Master’s and PhD students engaged in imaging-based research projects. • Research & Technical Support: o Operate and optimize advanced MRI imaging protocols (3T Siemens Prisma, fMRI, diffusion imaging, and spectroscopy). o Assist in AI-driven imaging research, including data acquisition, segmentation, and computational analysis. o Ensure compliance with international imaging standards (FDA, EMA, ICH-GCP) for translational research. • Industry & Clinical Research Collaboration: o Support clinical trials and research studies in oncology, neuroimaging, and cardiovascular imaging. o Work closely with Mubadala, Tawam Molecular Imaging Center (TMIC), and UAE healthcare institutions to advance research applications.
Minimum Qualification• Education: Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences, Medical Imaging, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. • Certification/Licensure: Professional MRI certification (e.g., ARRT-MR, CAMRT, or equivalent).
Preferred Qualification• Additional certifications, such as CPR/BLS and IV contrast administration. • Minimum of two years of experience in general or specialized MRI imaging (e.g., neuro, musculoskeletal, cardiac MRI). • Strong knowledge of patient safety protocols, including contrast agent administration. • Active Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAD) license.
Excpected Skills• Experience: o Proficiency in operating and optimizing MRI research protocols, including functional MRI (fMRI), diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), and spectroscopy. o Experience in clinical research, AI applications in medical imaging, or industry collaborations is a plus. • Teaching: Experience at the graduate or professional level (preferred).
