Role

This role is fixed term for 12 months maternity cover or upon return of the post-holder, whichever is soonest.


We are seeking a self-motivated individual required to join our expanding Biomedical Science team. The post is primarily focused on teaching and it therefore presents an excellent opportunity to increase your teaching experience and skills. The post should attract a person seeking a new challenge or starting a career in academia.


You will be engaged primarily with teaching on all programmes related to Biomedical Sciences. You will be expected to contribute to the development of the programme and consistent delivery of the course. As a Lecturer, we would expect the candidate to contribute to recruitment and marketing activities and developing projects to improve the student experience.


Ideal Candidate

You should have a degree and either have completed a PhD in a Biomedical Science discipline or nearing completion or hold a relevant postgraduate qualification and the equivalent experience as a Biomedical Scientist. You should be committed to the educational development of Biomedical Science students, future scientists and healthcare professionals. Experience of conducting laboratory practical experiments and offering elearning to enhance teaching and learning, are important. It is important that you work to enhance links with laboratory health professionals outside the university. You should have experience in undergraduate and postgraduate project supervision.
