Lecturer in Global Oral Health

We wish to appoint a Lecturer in Global Oral Health Teaching and Research  with experience of working in Internationalisation at a higher education level and research and teaching expertise in dental public health encompassing social inequalities, global oral health as well as clinical communication, health promotion, and oral epidemiology at an undergraduate and postgraduate level. The post-holder will specifically focus on developing the School’s internationalisation agenda with the ADI and it is envisioned that they will have a leadership role in research in the area of dental health service, global inequalities or communication research. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to build on existing work, conduct important and interesting research in line with the School’s research strategy and develop the School’s Internationalisation agenda.

Your priorities will include:

  • Lead on global oral health and communication delivery and assessment of modules and programmes across undergraduate and postgraduate studies as required
  • Have deep experience and a strong understanding of conceiving, designing and coding clinical communication interactions in primary dental and health care
  • Good communication skills with colleagues and with research participants
  • Achieve a balance between research, internationalisation and teaching

Have the opportunity to drive forward research either through extending existing research activities or through developing a new strand of international activity

Who we’re looking for:

  • You will be expected to play an active and leadership role in the preparation delivery and assessment of clinical communication, global oral health and ensure their integration within the overall undergraduate 4D programme ethos
  • Develop the connectivity between practice and research and ensure the undergraduate and postgraduate courses remain relevant, innovative and take advantage of the opportunities offered by research-led teaching
  • Actively contribute to the public engagement agenda of the School and University.
  • Be able to demonstrate leadership skills by managing the position and the tasks within the time allocated 

Requires good interpersonal skills, be able to communicate effectively and have the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
