Description: The Departments of Medicine at St. Michael's Hospital and University of Toronto are seeking a qualified full-time academic geriatrician. The successful candidate must be eligible for a Full-time Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The candidate will have an academic position description of Clinician Teacher (CT). The expected start date of the position is January 1, 2024, or shortly thereafter.
The successful candidate will hold an MD degree and have, or be eligible for, certification in Geriatric Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). The successful candidate must have proven clinical excellence in the various aspects of geriatric medicine. The successful candidate will participate in the educational programs in Geriatric Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto and collaborate in clinical research and quality improvement programs. This position will support the large in-patient and out-patient demands at St Michael’s Hospital, in addition to participating fully in the educational programs in Geriatric Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto. The candidate would also have the opportunity to support the clinical and educational programs at Providence Healthcare - Unity Health Toronto. The successful candidate will report to the Head, Division of Geriatric Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital. The Division of Geriatric Medicine, composed of 8 full time academic geriatricians, has an international reputation in clinical research, education and knowledge translation.
