Position Description

The School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership (SNHCL) at the University of Washington Tacoma invites applications for a non-tenure track, temporary part-time lecturer position to teach in SNHCL's RN-BSN program. The appointment period is Spring Quarter 2024 (March 16-June 15). The position is dependent on curricular need and available funding. Part-time lecturers are non-voting members of the UW Tacoma faculty. 

The primary duties of a Lecturer, Part-time Temporary are instructional. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and facilitate a clinical practicum section of T NURS 414: Health, Communities, and Populations. This individual will work with the 414 Course Coordinator and Academic Services Director to ensure all administrative clinical course requirements are met.

The position may require on-site face-to-face availability for course instruction, online/hybrid instruction, or remote synchronous instruction and teaching assignments may include days and/or evenings. Teaching excellence is expected of all successful candidates. 

The base salary range for this position will have a full-time monthly salary range of $6,500-$7,500 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in Nursing
  • Demonstrated teaching experience in nursing education or nursing professional development
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in community/population/public health
  • Commitment to and understanding of the learning needs of diverse adult learners
