As part of the UQ community, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside the brightest minds, who have joined us from all over the world, and within an environment where interdisciplinary collaborations are encouraged.

As part of our commitment to research excellence, we are proud to provide our staff with access to world-class facilities and equipment, grant writing support, greater research funding opportunities, and post-fellowship contracts via our UQ Amplify initiative.

At the core of our teaching remains our students, and their experience with us sets a foundation for success far beyond graduation. Not only do we have one of the largest PhD enrolments in Australia, but we have also made a commitment to making education opportunities available for all Queenslanders, regardless of personal, financial, or geographical barriers.

About This Opportunity

Our prestigious School of Pharmacy is seeking an outstanding Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor with teaching, research and/or clinical expertise to join our dedicated team of academics and provide leadership within the School.

Given the many recent changes in the pharmacy profession in Australia, including expanded scope of practice, we are interested in building our staff capacity to respond to these changes in teaching and research. In this role, you will have the opportunity for academic leadership of the Clinical Pharmacy program suite (Masters and Graduate Certificate) and work with the current teaching team to ensure a fit for purpose pedagogy.

While your major teaching responsibility will be within the Clinical Pharmacy program, you may also teach across other programs within the School of Pharmacy (B.Pharm(Hons) and ITP) and other courses that are the responsibility of the School of Pharmacy. You will also provide leadership for our teaching conjoint staff in the school.

This is a full-time, continuing position commencing November 2023. This opportunity is being offered as either a Teaching and Research Academic position, or as a Clinical Academic position and will be offered at Academic Level C, or Academic Level D, commensurate with the successful candidate’s skills and experience. At Level C, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $128,109 - $147,717, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $149,888 - $172,830 annually.

The greater benefits of joining the UQ community are broad: from being part of a Group of Eight university, to recognition of prior service with other Australian universities, up to 26 weeks of paid parental leave, 17.5% annual leave loading, flexible working arrangements including hybrid on site/WFH options and flexible start/finish times, and genuine career progression opportunities via the academic promotions process.
