The Role
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Physiology and Pharmacology to participate in the Department's range of teaching and scholarship activities. The role combines teaching pharmacy students in the accredited MPharm (which has been assessed as the top-ranking programme in London by the latest Guardian League Table) and related programmes, supervision, research, leadership and limited administrative duties. The successful applicant will act as a personal tutor to a group of undergraduate students.


The course is run jointly with St. George’s, University of London and the candidate will be based in Kingston but will be expected to coordinate teaching activities in relation to the discipline across the two sites.


The Person
Applicants should have a PhD within the discipline. Current or recent experience with undergraduate teaching in HE/FE and a track record in publishing in peer-reviewed journals, commensurate with career stage research would be valuable. A highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, the successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with the diverse body of students and academics.


Applicants will be required to demonstrate that they meet the Kingston University standards in learning and teaching, and research. By the end of the probation period, you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition (if this has not already been obtained).


The Faculty

We have invested heavily in the development of new facilities, with our laboratories providing access to ultra-modern equipment and teaching facilities in areas such as biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutics, specialist labs for pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical science and chemistry, a forensic scene-of-crime house and a pharmacy dispensing simulation suite.


Further Information
This is a full time, permanent position with a starting salary of £38,647 per annum.
