(Level B) $99,441 to $117,627 / (Level C) $121,256 to $139,445 / (Level D) $145,502 to $160,048 per annum (pro rata) plus an employer contribution of up to 17% superannuation may apply.  A clinical loading may also apply for eligible candidates.

Multiple Part-Time and Full-Time, Fixed Term and Continuing Lecturer (Level B), Senior Lecturer (Level C) and Associate Professor (Level D) positions available within the Adelaide Dental School.

These positions will play a key role in clinical teaching of Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Bachelor of Oral Health students.

The successful candidates will be part of the undergraduate clinical teaching team in the Adelaide Dental School, supervising students and being directly involved in all aspects of clinical teaching within general dentistry.  The successful candidates will also enhance the existing relationship between the School and SA Dental Services by creating opportunities for students to ensure optimal clinical experience and learning outcomes are provided.  It is a requirement that the candidates will be able to provide clinical supervision of students in SA Dental Service city, suburban clinics and on occasions, in rural areas.

To be successful at Level B you will need:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a general dentist and experience in course coordination
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials, clinical seminars, and marking and assessment activities
  • Demonstrated experience in developing a culture of teaching and learning excellence that includes the capacity to incorporate new technologies and new approaching to contemporary teaching methodologies
  • Demonstrated high level of organisational skills and ability to work with initiative and minimum supervision, and the ability to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders including students, industry, government and community groups
  • Demonstrated contribution to the profession, and/or discipline through continuing professional development relevant to general dental practice

 In addition to the above, to be successful at Level C you will need:

  • Extensive experience in the preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials, clinical skills supervision, and marking and assessment activities
  • Experience in program or course coordination and the management of teaching and learning resources and staffing

In addition to the above, to be successful at Level D you will need all of the above and;

  • A PhD or extensive experience in general dental practice / clinical dentistry
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and leadership in teaching and curriculum development at tertiary education level, and a proven ability in the management of University programs with a commitment to high quality teaching and clinical supervision
  • Demonstrated capacity to supervise Honours and Postgraduate research students completion
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary academic and clinical environment and to provide leadership through effective mentoring, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Extensive experience in managing teaching dental clinics
