London South Bank University, Department of Health and Social Care
United Kingdom

Looking for a change?

If you are seeking an exciting opportunity that will challenge and help you develop, we are currently recruiting for posts within our team.

The Children's Nursing team at London South Bank University is a dynamic group under new leadership. It is one of the largest in the U.K. produces the UK's greatest number of children's nurses. Our students are placed at hospitals in London and the South East. This includes the Evelina London Children's Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital. We are interested in individuals who would enjoy inspiring the next generation of nurses reach their full potential.

One of our key strengths is that we have a diverse range of backgrounds and foster a collaborative and supportive working environment. We offer many opportunities to develop both in the classroom and beyond. To ensure every new lecturer is successful, training and scholarly activities are promoted to progress in their career.

Alongside traditional teaching methods we strive to develop independent student learning strategies using innovative teaching methods. We believe that one of the most effective ways of supporting students to make their way in the university is in providing strong academic support.

Our ideal Lecturer / Senior Lecturer candidates will have a passion for teaching and significant experience of working in children and young people's nursing practice. As well as thriving in a collaborative environment, maintaining a perspective on the collective needs of the department, you will be equally capable of working autonomously, trusted to use your initiative and to take ownership of those areas within your responsibility. Part-time positions we will be considered.

Possession of a teaching qualification and relevant higher degree is desirable at Lecturer level, and essential for a Senior Lecturer position.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience of working in a hospital or community setting as a children's nurse.
