The Core Facility Centre for Proteomics (CfP) in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is looking for a full-time (100%) core facility manager in the field of mass spectrometry-based proteomics.

Position

  • You will assist in ongoing research projects in the field of proteomics and you are responsible for the management of the Centre for Proteomics.
  • You will participate in the provision of academic services: you will represent the core facility both internally and externally and help to coordinate service projects.
  • You will help coordinate project proposals in the field of proteomics and contribute to attracting external funding.
  • You will assist in the supervision and training of PhD students and other team members, amongst others by organizing workshops, training sessions, and networking events
  • You will develop and implement new proteomics methodologies (including data analysis) in collaboration with researchers, ensuring the facility remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
  • You will establish and maintain collaborations with academic, clinical, and industry partners to expand the impact of the core facility.
  • You will contribute to the long-term strategy and development of the core facility, including budgeting, equipment acquisition, and resource allocation.

Profile

  • You hold a PhD in (Biomedical) Sciences (or you will have obtained it by the time you start work) or have at least 5 years of hand-on mass spectrometry-based proteomics experience.
  • Your research qualities are in line with the faculty and university research policies.
  • You act with attention to quality, integrity, creativity and cooperation.
  • You can speak and write fluently in English and also express yourself in Dutch.
  • You are a real team player and have excellent management skills.
  • You have excellent presentation skills and are willing to speak in public

What we offer

  • We offer a full-time contract as a senior researcher for a period of 2 years (extension possible).
  • Your gross monthly salary is calculated according to the pay scale for a principal research fellow in the Contract Research Staff category (Dutch: Bijzonder Academisch Personeel, BAP).
  • You will receive ecocheques, Internet-connectivity allowance, a group insurance, an income protection insurance, and a bicycle allowance or a full reimbursement of public transport costs for commuting.
  • The planned start date is 1st of June or as soon as possible after that date.
  • You will do most of your work at Campus Drie Eiken and UZA in a dynamic and stimulating working environment.
