Challenges and Duties

The Department of Nephrology and Hypertension at the Inselspital is seeking to immediately hire a Post-doc (100 %). The aim of the translational research project is to decipher the molecular function of the sodium/proton exchanger NHA2 and its role in human disease. The project will utilize a wide array of techniques in molecular biology and transport physiology and involve work with cultured cells, yeast and transgenic mice. The project is integrated into the National Center of Competence in Research Program, NCCR TransCure (https://www.nccr-transcure.ch/).

Tasks

In addition to performing research in the wet lab, you are expected to write and submit research papers and grants, prepare and give oral / poster presentations at national and international conferences and participate in the education of Master and PhD students.
 
Expected profile
  • Biomedical background (MD and/or PhD)
  • Prior experience in the future field of study, including work with rodents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably in German
  • Ability to conduct independent research
  • Well developed social and communication skills to work in interdisciplinary teams
  • High level of motivation and dedication
