Job title: Clinical Guideline Methodology Trainee/Postdoc, 2-year role
Reports to: Prof Olaf Dekkers (Leiden, NL) / ESE Office (UK)
Salary/Stipend: €40,000 – €48,000 p/a pro rata
Working hours and location:
Hours: 28 hours per week (4 full working days per week)
Contract length: 2 year role, with the possibility to extend to 3 years
Location: Leiden University/Remote
Remote working and flexible working arrangements will be discussed.
Candidate must have the right to work within the EU

Overall purpose of the role:

• To support the ESE Clinical Committee in the development and
production of ESE Clinical Guidelines
• To provide systematic reviews and evidence tables for the guidelines
• To work alongside the Clinical Guideline methodologist, becoming
trained in the role with a view to act as a lead methodologist in the
future
• To ensure that all activities under the Job title remit are delivered to
an excellent standard, and in line with ESE's strategy.
• To help with dissemination and implementation of the guideline

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

Strategic:

• Improve the efficiency, and meet the goals for the ESE Clinical
Guideline programme
• To have input into the strategic goals and direction of the ESE Clinical
Guideline programme
• Upcoming ESE Clinical Guidelines include the following topics:
o Post-menopausal hormone therapy
o Polyuria and polydipsia
o Corticosteroid therapy
o Adrenal incidentaloma

Operational:

• Support the lead methodologist in administerial duties related to the
guidelines as required (project management, systematic reviews etc)
• Support the set-up of Clinical Guideline working groups alongside the
ESE office, and provide meeting/administrative support to guideline
working groups where required
• Production of Clinical Guideline supporting materials

Person specification

Skills and experience

• Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in Endocrinology
• Applicants should be either a postdoc, fellow or junior fellow at the
end of their training
• Basic epidemiologic skills are a pre-requisite

Other relevant requirements:


• Travel is required as part of this role; willingness and ability to travel
mainly, but not exclusively, in Europe, and occasional travel at
weekends or bank holidays.
• Candidate must have the right to work in the EU
