About the Role

The successful postdoctoral research assistant role will involve leading a project that will focus on examining the effects of manipulating the physical properties of the extracellular matrix to alter cancer cell metabolism to halt metastatic spread. The work will be based in the laboratory of Professor Victoria Sanz-Moreno in a team of tumour microenvironment experts.

About You

Essential requirements for this post include a PhD in a relevant biological subject and an undergraduate degree in a biological subject. Significant research laboratory experience in metabolomics, tissue culture, cell biology and deciphering molecular mechanism of action is essential. This job requires an expert in metabolomics, with a focus on cancer. This project needs to be developed by a skilled post-doctoral researcher, due to high level of specialisation in the research question. The project will involve cell biology and biochemistry techniques, Nuclear Magnetic Spectroscopy (NMR) metabolomics & data analysis using Metaboanalyst, proteomics and mass spectrometry; and cellular metabolism assays such as Seahorse. Appropriate publication records would be an advantage. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records are also essential.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project
