Summary Description

The Department of Radiology at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University Medical Center is searching for a candidate with experience in radiochemistry to work at the ColumbiaRadiology PET Center. This position is a hybrid position involving novel radiochemistry (11C, 18F, etc.. ) as well as production of clinical tracer (18F-FDG, 13N-Ammonia, etc.). The candidate will work onsite at the PET Center facility along with a talented team of radiochemists and engineers. The position will be working in a GMP environment and a familiarity with these regulatory requirements and relevant equipment such as HPLC is highly recommended. Initial appointment is for one year with expected renewal through a second year contingent on funding and satisfactory performance. Opportunities for advancement may be available based on job performance.



Minimum Degree Required




Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or Radiochemistry and/or experience producing clinical PET radiotracers. Successful accomplishment of the project requires the candidate to have strong expertise in Organic Chemistry and Radiochemistry and experience and/or willingness to learn clinical radiotracer production. The candidate is expected to be able to work well in a team and to communicate the results of their research orally and in writing. The candidate must be exceptionally organized in order to perform clinical production duties.
