The position is located at the Department of Clinical Sciences in Malmö and is combined with employment as a specialist physician/consultant within Region Skåne. DutiesWork duties include research, postgraduate education and teaching on the Faculty’s Medical Degree Programme within geriatrics. Other duties normally associated with the position of professor include administrative tasks and internal and external elected office nationally and internationally. The successful applicant is expected to assume overall responsibility for research and education in the subject area. Independent clinical work is included in the position of specialist physician/consultant. Other duties may also be included in the position. Required qualificationsA person who has demonstrated both research and teaching expertise shall be qualified for employment as a professor (Chapter 4, Section 3 of the Higher Education Ordinance). The applicant is to be a specialist physician in geriatrics. Since the appointment as professor is combined with employment as a specialist physician, Swedish language skills of at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s Framework of Reference for Languages are a requirement. According to the Lund University Appointment Rules, the applicant must have completed training in teaching and learning in higher education of at least five weeks or have acquired equivalent competence by other means in order to be eligible, unless there are special grounds. If the holder of the position is deemed to have special grounds for not having completed training in teaching and learning in higher education of at least five weeks at the time of taking up the position, they are to complete such training within two years of starting the position. Assessment criteriaThe applicant is to have demonstrated a very high level of research and teaching expertise relevant to geriatrics. During the assessment, particular weight will be accorded to research expertise. The applicant must have demonstrated research expertise by maintaining high international standing as a researcher. The applicant is to have demonstrated teaching expertise of relevance to the subject within both teaching and supervision in first, second and third-cycle education. The applicant is to demonstrate good leadership ability, an ability to engage with wider society and strong collaboration skills.
