Professor of Psychiatry (University of Copenhagen)

The University seeks to appoint a clinical professor of Psychiatry with special focus on stress-related disorders and transcultural psychiatry to commence as soon as possible. The externally funded professorship is combined with a consultancy Center Ballerup, Copenhagen University Hospital, the Mental Health Services CPH in the Capital Region. It is a requirement for appointment that the applicant is accepted for both the professorship and the consultancy. Job description In the consideration of applications for the professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant's ability to document a high level of original scientific work at an international level within the area of psychiatry or child- and adolescent psychiatry. The professor’s responsibilities will primarily consist of: Research, including publication/academic dissemination The professor will be responsible for multidisciplinary research approach within diagnostics and treatment within stress-related disorders and transcultural psychiatry, including psychiatric disorders in patients from other cultures and in trauma-affected refugees. The professorship must also contribute to the implementation of research results in clinical practice. Research-based teaching, including associated examination Responsibility for research-based teaching in stress-related disorders and transcultural psychiatry. Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of researchers The professor will be responsible for planning and developing research initiatives within stress-related disorders and transcultural psychiatry in the Mental Health Services, Capital Region of Denmark, and aid in implementing results into clinical practice. Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate Academic assessments. Required qualifications To be qualified for a clinical professor position, you will be assessed according to these six overall criteria for recognising merit at the University of Copenhagen: Research, teaching, societal impact, organisational contribution, external funding, and leadership.
