Institute of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology
Postdoctoral research position 100 %
The Institute of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology is active in several areas of basic and translational research aiming at the discovery of new drug targets. The research group of Prof. Hanspeter Naegeli, Director of the Institute, is currently investigating the mechanism by which the histone methyltransferase ASH1L stimulates DNA repair in the chromatin of human cells (see: Nature Communicationfor background information).
Your responsibilities
As a postdoctoral member of the research group, you are responsible for promoting genome-wide assays (including ChIP-seq, DNA damage-seq and Excision repair-seq) to establish a functional link between histone methylation, DNA damage recognition and DNA damage excision. An effective collaboration with PhD and Master students is mandatory.
Your profile
Candidates should have a PhD in biology, a solid background in molecular biology, specialized knowledge of bioinformatics, a strong interest in DNA repair, and a proven record of creative research achievements.
