Within the Excellence Strategy of the University of Tübingen and a collaborative effort between the Universities of Stuttgart and Tübingen, we are seeking a young, highly motivated and emerging researcher, who will take the lead in building up a new group and a competitive research program in the area of Polymers for Pharmaceutical Applications. Topics of interest include:
The scientific background of the young research group leader should be on polymer science with a strong affinity to polymer technology and pharmaceutical/medical applications. The ideal candidate should have an excellent international early-career track record with interdisciplinary collaborations and successful third-party funding. The research group is expected to engage actively with the existing research environment at the Universities of Stuttgart and Tübingen. In particular, the collaboration with the Chair of Structure and Properties of Polymeric Materials (Institute of Polymer Chemistry) at the University of Stuttgart and groups in Pharmacy and Medicine at the University of Tübingen, especially in Pharmaceutical Technology, is expected. The research group will closely work together with and support the Tübingen Center for Academic Drug Discovery (TüCADD) and the Cluster of Excellence “Image-Guided and Functionally Instructed Tumor Therapies” (iFIT). The Young Research Group Leader Position is located both at the University of Stuttgart and at the University of Tübingen: The funding includes a group leader position (TV-L E14), as well as one E13 and one 0.65 E13 position as well as running budgets. The duration of the appointment is linked to the funding period of the Excellence Strategy at the University of Tübingen (until 31/10/2025). The group will be embedded into the Chair of Structure & Properties of the Institute of Polymer Chemistry (IPOC) at the University of Stuttgart and the Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Tübingen, and will benefit from both support structures.
