We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic researcher for a 2-year full time Postdoc position at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Copenhagen. The position is open from 1st of December 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is limited in time to 24 months.

The position is within the area of amorphous solid drug substances research with a focus on differences between differently prepared amorphous forms of the same drug substances. The position is embedded in the Solid State Pharmaceutics research group. Our research

Research in the Solid State Pharmaceutics research group focusses on the solid state of pharmaceutical preparations, with a specific interest in the transformation of a drug from the crystalline state to high-energy amorphous forms. Using a teamwork and interdisciplinary approach, and embedded in an international network of collaborators, we investigate different types of amorphous pharmaceutical systems with respect to their physicochemical properties, their stabilization and their pharmaceutical performance.

Your job

A post doc position in the Solid State Pharmaceutics research group on Organic Polyamorphism: its existence, formation, characterization and pharmaceutical relevance. We strive for a combination of experimental (preparative and analytical) and computer modelling work to address fundamental and applied open questions around the elusive topic of polyamorphism. 

Profile

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with the following competencies and experience:

Essential experience and skills:

  • You have a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Physical Chemistry or a related area
  • You are experienced in the preparation and analytics of amorphous solids
  • You have an active interest in molecular modelling
  • Proficient communication skills and ability to work in teams
  • Excellent English skills written and spoken

Place of employment

The place of employment is at Department of Pharmacy, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in dynamic and international research environment. Terms of employment

The employment as postdoc is a full time and fixed-term position for 2 years. Starting date is 1st of December 2020 or thereafter.

Salary, pension and terms of employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Currently, the monthly salary starts at 34,600 DKK/ approx. 4,649 Euro (April 2020-level). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.

Non-Danish and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions, if they hold a PhD degree and have not lived in Denmark the last 10 years.

The position is covered by the “Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at the Universities” of June 28, 2013.
