Application WindowOpen August 3rd, 2021 through Tuesday, Nov 30, 2021 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position descriptionSchool of Medicine We are currently accepting applications for cardiothoracic imaging fellowship position in the Department of Radiological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine, for the academic year 2022-2023. This fellowship provides comprehensive training in cardiothoracic imaging using radiography, CT, CTA, MRI, and MRA. The fellow has the opportunity to learn advanced cardiovascular imaging including real time cine MR imaging, phase contrast MRA, myocardial tagging, time-resolved MRA, high spatial resolution MRA, free-breathing non-contrast SSFP MRA, high resolution whole heart coronary MRA, viability and perfusion MR imaging, low dose coronary CTA, pulmonary vein mapping and “triple rule out”. All aspects of thoracic imaging are also covered, including oncologic imaging as well as HRCT. Interested fellow will also have the opportunity to perform interventional procedures, including lung or mediastinal biopsy, chest tube placement, or tumor ablation under the supervision of the interventional radiology division. The department is equipped with state of the art clinical CT and MRI scanners. Research CT (256-slice) and MRI (3T and 9.4T) scanners are also available in the department. Qualified candidates must be either ABR board-eligible or board-certified and must be able to obtain a full and unrestricted California medical license. Our mission, within the Department, and in a broader context as a University of California School of Medicine campus, is to provide an excellent educational experience so as to produce highly skilled fellows who will go on to become leaders in their fields. One one-year fellowship is offered. The University of California, Irvine Medical Center is a 411-bed tertiary and quaternary care hospital with all residencies. UCIMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center in urban Orange County. There are collegial relationships with all services. UCI offers excellent salary and benefits with an incentive plan.
