Postdoctoral Researcher in Mobile Health Technology University of Bern Center for Biomedical Engineering Research
Postdoctoral Researcher in Mobile Health TechnologyGerontechnology is the study of technology and aging to ensure good health, social participation, and independent living. The relevance and importance of this field increases with the aging of our society. Within the Gerontechnology and Rehabilitation Group, clinicians, psychologists and engineers collaborate with the goal to develop and evaluate contact-free sensor technology and machine learning algorithms to derive digital biomarkers that promote independent living for elderly patients with mental illness or neurodegenerative disorders. We have a 3.5 room apartment, which is designed and equipped with over 200 sensors (e.g., Radar, Lidar, Motion Tracking) in order to unobtrusively assess and monitor human behaviour and how neurological disorders influence daily life of patients over a prolonged time. We are looking for a postdoc to strengthen our research portfolio in the field of mobile health applications for patients with neurological disorders. In this field, we use technological tools (smartphones, tablet computers, mobile sensor networks, instrumented apartments) for developing new digital endpoints for clinical trials, for the development of new interventions and for new clinical applications To complete our research team, we are seeking an active and self-motivated postdoc with a technological background (Computer Science, Engineering).
You want to be able to define your own version of work-life balance - flexible is our go-to word. We offer flexible working hours (no block hours), working from home and the opportunity to integrate own ideas. We are a dynamic young team of engineers looking forward to having you join us. The position is available immediately, whereas the starting date can be discussed.
